Software Developers

Represent the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects. Develop accurate time estimates for the assigned tasks for their team, and provide a detailed work-breakdown structure for those tasks. Code features; perform unit and integration tests for complex application features. Install, configure and test software components. Create required validation documentation. Support and troubleshoot production application issues and provide off hours support as needed. Frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts. Assist other Software Engineers on the teams as needed. The position requires the complete understanding of all phases of the software development lifecycle, from functional specification through coding, testing, and the customer support required for a commercial product; excellent object-oriented programming skills with working knowledge of 3-tier application design; excellent written/oral communication skills; work only under general direction and independently determine and develop solutions to complex technical issues. Application development experience with C++, Java, HTML, XML, SQL, EJB, JSP and javaScript. Experience using Photo shop and macromedia products (Dreamweaver, Flash) Weblogic and Rational tools experience a plus. M.S./B.A./B.S. preferred in Computer Science, Information Systems, Bioinformatics or other related technical discipline 5-8 years of application development experience. Knowledge of Biometrics/genomics/medical processes is desirable.
