  Fatty Acid-interfaced Biosensors

The special sensor is based on a newly emerging technique of combining electronic sensors with biomolecular recognizers, enzymes, antibodies, even living cells. For example, the heart infarction bio-sensor is made possible by the recent discovery of a new marker, a fatty acid-binding protein, that appears in the blood within one to two hours after the onset of the chest pains that are the first symptoms of heart infarction. By employing this recent advance the heart biosensor could be engineered to be accurate, quick, and cheap.
